As your therapist, I will be honored to work with you as we tap into the resilience you already possess to achieve and sustain progress. The courage and strength it takes to change your life and take steps forward merits all the support, empathy, and respect I can offer. I will provide a non-judgmental space where we explore your strengths and develop tools to reclaim your power. Additionally, I am committed to social justice and strive to create and maintain a safe and inclusive space for all. In my personal time, I enjoy running, hiking and practicing yoga.
I received my Bachelors in Sociology from North Carolina State University and my Masters in Social Work from The University of Georgia. I hold a license in LCSW for the state of Georgia.
I have significant experience working with adults struggling with substance use disorders and supporting their recovery. I know how defeating it can be to try and quit substances and how isolating both active addiction and recovery can feel. I have also worked at a STEM institution to coordinate recovery services, conduct mandated alcohol and drug evaluations and provide mental health counseling.
I have experience working with children and adolescents struggling with mental health issues including; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, self-harming behavior, impulsivity, post-traumatic stress disorder, and mood dysregulation.
I know how hard life can be when you are facing these challenges, but most importantly, I also know that you are capable of overcoming them. I have been privileged to watch the powerful transformation that occurs when an individual is empowered to take the necessary steps towards change.
